Meetings are held on Wednesday evenings at the Warley MRC premises in Oldbury, West Midlands.

I am pleased to report that all the new trackwork is now in place on the Dewsbury main line layout, with three new boards to replace the goods entrance which is now at the HMRS. These are twin tracks which run into a new fiddle yard. At the opposite end of the layout, a new 2ft board to replace the transitional trackwork between the layout and the garden shed when the layout was situated at Rolleston.

The Warley Club held its annual symposium on Sunday 15 February 2009. It was decided that Dewsbury was one of the club layouts to be operated at this event. The good news is the layout was fully tested, with a full day’s running where we had only run a single loco previously during testing, so we were pleased with fact that the layout ran well during the day.

The signals are the next job, with some of the existing ones operated with modified relay motors now changed to servo motor operation. We have found that this method of control works well during exhibitions with Ellerton Road. New legs need to be fitted to the part of the layout which at present sits on a frame.
