SE Group Meeting, 29th Jan 2015

For the first meeting of the New Year Peter Mann invited the SE Area Group members to bring stock to a running session on Merney Junction.

Some 8 or 9 members appeared during the afternoon and very confusing it was with multiple Peter“s, multiple Rob“s and multiple Eric“s. Stock was forthcoming with a LSWR T3, and Ixion Fowler, a Heljan Hymek, a Metropolitan Bo-Bo and various incomplete but running locos of a Midland and L&Y variety.

Rob T also brought some wagons so all locos could at least work some short trains and it was good to see that Merney Junction behaved itself all afternoon — that is when the operators didn“t get confused with the control panel, the author of this note getting particularly confused at one point while Peter M was away making the tea.

As always there was much discussion on railway topics and on this occasion even talk of the Irish railways system as one of the members models the railways of the Emerald Isle.

Eventually after much tea and biscuits everyone dispersed with a «See you next month»
