SE Area Group Report May 2019

Since the last meeting we have continued with our monthly meetings which have all been well attended.

At the March meeting we decided that at our April meeting we would carry out some minor works on the railway to improve running. So last Thursday we did this.

John Walker worked on fitting purpose made bolts fabricated by Chris Webber to the second part of the fiddle yard. This included fettling the level of the traverser. Rob Wigley, aided by Eric Hines and David Wigley, worked improving the joint between the scenic section and the adjacent section.

When we have completed this work we will be able to assemble the trains in the fiddle yard before they are dispatched onto the layout.

Rob Wigley brought along some scratchbuilt chassis for 4-wheel wagons and one for the North London 4-wheel coaches. These are all sprung and run very well.

The S7SE group had a stand at the London Festival of Railway Modelling at Alexandra Palace and S7 members who are also members of the MRC helped man the Scale7 Bow Junction stand which was next to the Scale7 Stand.
