South Hams Area Group Report May 2019

The South Hams group wish Vic Burles and his wife Christine all the very best in starting their new life in Hereford, we hope to see a new layout take shape in the future Vic once the all those boxes are emptied. We’ve lost a couple of members to other modelling interests and wish Bill and Frank good luck and thanks for your input to the group. 

The remaining members are currently involved in the building of a small test track to test and show off our latest models. Our meeting room at Bittaford is somewhat compact and bijou so it’s based on Eldred Clark’s article in Newsletter 103*, modified to fit two 1200 x 400 Grainge and Hodder boards; thank you Bill for the Templot plan. Ken Capper is currently building the crossover and over the coming months we will see the plain track built and the turnout mechanism installed, hopefully the electrickery won’t be too complex for something so simple. I’ll keep you posted.
