South East Area Group Report January 2021

We have continued to hold our weekly Zoom meetings each Thursday afternoon and usually 9 or 10 members attend. We each take in turns to tell the other attendees what modelling we have been doing.

Rob Thompson is building an Eric Underhill/ABS GWR class 850 Pannier Tank version with a Half Cab.

Peter Morgan is building foam board models of buildings for Bow Junction.

Eldred Clarke has built a train of cattle wagons though most of his time is taken up creating a train of beautiful 6-wheel M & GN coaches.

Rob Wigley has been creating etches for the running gear for Tony Watts resin wagon castings. These wagons will run on Bow Junction.

George Morris is about to start building another North London 0-6-0 Park tank engine.

Eric Hines is working hard on his new layout Watlington. John Walk- er is working on several projects involving at least 3 different gauges, one of which involves a multi-level spiral in 3mm to 1ft which has many parts 3D printed.

I have been working on a scratch built NLR outside cylinder 4-4-0 tank engine and have just completed the 4 wheeled bogie after a long struggle. When I build the second loco I shall incorporate quite a few modifications in the design of the bogie.

Hopefully with the vaccination programme roll out going so quickly we may be able to have physical meeting in about 6 to 8 weeks
