South East Area Group Report, February 2026

Since I was away on holiday when the last SHED meeting was due at the end of October the meeting took place at Eldred Clark’s home.

Some time ago Eric Hines passed his layout of Watlington to Eldred which he installed in his railway room, and the meeting took place around the layout.

On the Bow Junction front, about 3 months ago we found a possible fault in the control system. Paul Marshall has addressed this matter and we believe that it has been resolved. We will find out for sure when we erect the layout at the end of November in Keen House.

We have continued with our weekly zoom meeting and our monthly SHED meetings in Northwood HA6. The regular discussion on Bulleid wheels has now moved to the bogies for an L & Y coach, for which John Walker is 3D printing parts.

Rob Wigley is now working on the roofs of the nine North London Coaches he is building.

At the last SHED meeting Eric Ramsay brought along a very nice model of a J50 which he had acquired. It ran very nicely. Work on Bow Junction is proceeding steadily.

Paul Marshall has now resolved the electrical problem we had with the control system and has wired up two of the three fiddle yards.

Scale7 South East will be manning the Scale7 stand at the London Festival of Railway Modelling at Alexander Palace on the 21st and 22nd of March 2026.
