West Sussex Group Report, February 2026

The West Sussex Group is sadly shrinking in numbers to the point where it is no longer a sustainable group.

Members of the West Sussex O Gauge Group, have kindly agreed to retain the S7 running line. However, understandably, it is unreasonable to expect them to retain a line just for the occasional S7 visiting member.

Therefore, over the next few months work to convert the S7 line to a gauntlet arrangement will be undertaken. This will involve the laying of additional sleepers between the S7 ones and adding two rails. There is some discussion about spacing, whether to have the distance from the outer S7 rail to inner FS rail gauged at 49.14mm. A final decision on this has yet to be made.
