West Sussex Area Group Report November 2024

Over the last few months the group have continued to use the S7 circuit for testing locomotives and rolling stock, alongside our finescale colleagues. A range of different locomotives and interesting freight wagons have been seen, which demonstrate the quality of the models being built.

At the end of September, the group took the running track to the Worthing MRC exhibition in Durrington, Worthing, with the S7 tracks being used over the weekend to demonstrate, for those attending the exhibition, that S7 is a viable scale. Many conversations were had about the difference between S7 and finescale. a number of people commented how much better the ScaleSeven track looked than the finescale commercial track, even unpainted. It was a common theme, however, for people to ask what is ScaleSeven? Plus, a couple of conversations included, if I had known about S7 I would have gone down that route rather than finescale, but it is now to late too change.

Sadly, one of our members Julian Russell had had to make the decision to sell his models, (Please see page 15 of the November 2024 Newsletter.)

If you are visiting West Sussex on the third Sunday in the month, there is a chance to run your locomotive on a oval of track, the approximate radiuos is 6’ 8", contact details on back page. Look forward to meeting you.
