West Sussex Area Group Report May 2025

It is with sadness I have to report the passing of two of our members. Julian Russell in January and David Wigley at the end of April. Both played a major part in the construction of the ScaleSeven running line on the West Sussex Group’s running tracks.

Julian and I built most of the running line, with Julian building the point work for the loop sidings on the line. David with his brother Rob designed and installed the baseboard joint track strengthening used to support the track in the early days when the boards had to be transported off site for storage. Now we have on site storage.

As the engine blows its final whistleand our railway paths diverge. Though our tracks may part and journeys cease. May our friendship's bond bring lasting peace. R.I.P.
