Warley MRC S7 Group Report November 2021

Work on the Ellerton Road modification has begun. We are using some of the 1ft wide boards from the Dewsbury Goods yard entrance to extend some of the existing 2ft wide boards to make them 3ft wide, and these have been fitted to the front of the layout. This extension will enable a coal yard to be built. We had hoped to have an entrance from the main line run round, but we have dropped the idea because we don’t think this would be possible given the existing track layout.

The turnouts we require are being built at home by various members of the team and we intend to start converting the track formation after our Warley Local Show which is being held in our clubrooms. This mini exhibition has replaced our exhibition at the NEC this year, which was cancelled due to Covid, but is planned to go ahead in November 2022.
