West Sussex Area Group Report February 2022

Running sessions have continued, with members taken precautions in relation to Covid.

Unfortunately storing the baseboards in an unheated shed (our only option), has resulted in the track at baseboard joints being weakened with an increased risk of the chair sleeper bond failing, which has occurred on a few occasions. So a programme is underway to replace the plastic chairs with brass ones fixed directly to the baseboard material, to overcome this issue. Hopefully this work will reduce the time the permanent way gang take possession of the running line at the start of each meeting.

Also there is a general discussion at meetings around the various projects currently being undertaken by different people, which will hopefully result in models seen at future running sessions. The early stages of one project can be seen in the accompanying photo.
